10 months and counting

Rowen turned 10 months old this weekend. We took these photos at 4:15pm. It was amazing to think that 10 months ago at essentially that time- Rowen was coming into the world (he was born at 4:22pm). SOoo much has happened in that time. We had a lot of fun this weekend with Rowen who is on the move and demonstrating increasing independence and confidence.

We had two gatherings this weekend with Rowen. The first was at our house on Saturday night. Rowen was in the midst of 5 kids ages 4 to 13. He was just hanging out and playing without Mom or Dad in sight. No problem- I can run with the big boys now....we at least crawl!

The second was on Sunday at a friends house. After the first hour, Rowen just crawled off to play with the other kids, ages 13 mos - 2 yrs. No Mom in sight- he was just doin' his own thang! Amazing!!

On Saturday, I was in the kitchen doing dishes and suddenly realized that I had not heard a peep from Rowen in a few minutes. Never a good sign...I peeked around the corner to find him sitting in front of the washer completely mesmerized! It was so fun to see him trying to figure out how this thing worked.

This was also a great relief to see it was the washer that had captured his attention and not Titan's dog food-- AGAIN!!

In other news, Rowen got allergy tested today due to some issues with diary and possibly corn vs. garbanzo beans. He does not appear to have an allergy to corn or dairy. Turns out there is no skin test for garbanzo beans! But he did have a slight reaction to the egg test. We got some blood work and hope to know more soon.

Bathtime is Fun!

Things are movin' along here. Rowen is on the mend and so is Mommy. Last weekend we took our 9 month pictures (posted separately). This weekend we had a lot of fun playing in the tub. Rowen is now crawling everywhere and into everything. Who knew the dogs water bowl could be so much fun! Despite what I have read, Rowen does not yet seem to understand the concept of "NO". No matter how many times we say "NO" to Titan's food bowl and redirect him- he crawls right for it. He will crawl over us, around the kitchen island, and over Titan to get to the food bowls. Like a moth to a flame. Luckily, we have been reassured by several other parents, that dog food does not appear to stunt one's growth, intelligence, or selection of future food choices.
