Tidbits

Don't forget to check out the other new post if you have not seen the "finger dancing video". BTW, Rowen watched this video of himself about 15 times today.

So, a few tidbits from today. It was a great day. Although, we were missing Daddy- Rowen and I had a great time. Rowen continues to talk up a storm. Bryan came home today and could not believe how much he was talking. New words over the weekend include- Eat, Helicopter, Boat, and Shark.

We had breakfast in town with some friends and Rowen had French Toast for the first time. He seemed to like this. We then spent much of the rest of the day playing outside at Rowen's water table. While playing with his new boat, twice- Rowen just walked over and out of no where gave me a kiss. One of my most favorite Mommy moments to date.

At one point, he suddenly stopped playing and wanted to go inside, desperately. He was of course, soaking wet. So I stripped him down and inside we went. He made a straight B-line for the couch and got down on the floor. I was momentarily perplexed. The triumphantly, he pulled one of his penguin water toys out from under the couch. AMAZING! So, there is Rowen playing and I guess he is thinking- blue penguin.....where did I put him.....Somewhere for safe keeping.....Yes, somewhere that I knew I could find him....Where was that......OH YES!!! UNDER THE COUCH. Damn, I have to get Mommy to open the door first!

Back outside we went to play with blue penguin in tow. I decided to let Rowen run around naked at this point. No sense in getting a fourth outfit of the day dirty and wet. After a while I notice a little tinkle coming from my son. I said, "Rowen do you have to potty?" "No," and with his next breath my little love bared down and out come a singular large POOP!

Certainly a day to remember.

Happy Fathers Day

Life has been super busy as the summer has rolled in. We went to San Antonio, Texas and had a great time with Aunt Lisa. I was busy with conference, but Rowen had a lot of fun with Daddy and Lisa. We did spend one day at the Zoo and the gang had a great time at the Children's Museum.

Father's Day was another great day. That weekend we explored Sherando Lake. Rowen was a little uncertain about the water at first. But he warmed upto it. He also had a lot of fun playing in the sand. On Sunday, I made chocolate chip pancakes for Bryan. See the video below of Rowen Rockin' to Elton John.we went out to dinner and had a great time with Mr. Rowen. Today, Benny and the Jets came back on the radio and Rowen was dancing and singing along. Soooooo cute!

This weekend, while Daddy was in Cleveland Rowen and I explored Forest Hill park. Rowen had a great time with the water park. I think he will continue to get more brave each time we go. He was still a little uncertain of the surprise water jets!

Developmentally, Rowen has been doing great with his talking. He wants to know the word for everything, pointing and repeating after me. He babbles constantly, although I am not always sure what he is saying. I am sure, to him, it makes perfect sense. He knows all his numbers 1-10. He will count sometimes upto 10, but not reliably. He does say the numbers whenever he sees them. He loves to point to things as we count them for him. He continues to learn more animals and their sounds. He has a book of 100 works and he can point correctly to almost ALL of them! It is truly amazing. He loves to figure out how things work. He loves to push buttons and make things happen. He knows all his body parts and loves to see every one's belly button. This can be all little awkward when we are out in public and he wants Mommy or Daddy to lift their shirt!

We look forward to visiting everyone this summer.

Love to everyone!
